Daily Planner
The daily planner is an important organizational tool. Your child will be expected to record the homework assignments for each subject. Homework is due the following day. Notes and reminders will be recorded in here also. Students are encouraged to copy items that I record on the whiteboard in our classroom.
Learning how to record assignments and write notes to yourself is critical to your child's success in middle school and high school. I do require that students have their planners signed or initialed by an adult each night. However, I have stressed to the students that this is their responsibility. This signature can be from a parent, grandparent, babysitter or other adult guardian at home. It is each student's responsibility to make sure this planner is signed each night and return it the following morning.
Please feel free to use this planner as a means of communication. I will often use this as a place to write notes about the students' behavior throughout the day. I check the planners every morning, so any notes from home will be seen by me, and I can respond to any concerns or questions you might have.
