Ms. LaBelle
I have been teaching for Mid-Prairie since 2009. I began teaching in 2nd grade at Wellman Elementary and moved up to 3rd grade the following year. After teaching 3 years of 3rd grade, I moved to the 4th grade position at Kalona Elementary. I am very fortunate to have covered so many grade levels and watched how students grow from one grade level to the next.
I am originally from a small suburb outside Rockford, Illinois. I grew up a figure skater, and I still continue to skate and coach figure skating. I teach figure skating camp over the summers, and I love it! I also had the opportunity to audition with the Disney on Ice: Dare to Dream show. It was an awesome experience to be a Disney princess for a day. :) I spend most of my free time at the ice rink either coaching or skating myself, so most of my days are spent working with kids.

My family is still located back in Illinois. I have one younger brother who is a student at the University of Iowa. My very loving 120-pound dog, Ivan, and his best feline friend, Lily, also live in Illinois. Here in Iowa I have my own kitty, Mufasa, who loves to hang around and watch me do school work.
I graduated from the University of Iowa, and I will always remain a die-hard Iowa Football fan! GO HAWKS!!!
